Do you want to explore and expand your creative life? Do you feel like you are on the edge of becoming someone new in the world? Do you long for some down-time in beautiful natural surroundings?
Join us for creative exploration using a variety of modalities: movement, needle felting, weaving, mandalas, and lots of play in a light-hearted way. We will use these tools to explore deep things with a light touch. You’ll come away renewed and revived. Plenty of time will be set aside for exploring and enjoying the beauty of our setting on the Spanish River. And of course, nothing is mandatory – You get to choose in the moment, whether it is a nap in your cozy cabin, a planned activity or lounging on the dock.
You’ll be guided through the weekend by, Grace Mahoney and Deb Reynolds, artists and experienced expressive arts facilitators.
Deb explores play, connections and lightness of being through clown, community arts projects and her current favourite modality, needle felting. She trained as an expressive arts practioner at the Haliburton School for the Arts and had a former life teaching elementary school. Deb is a regular contributor to the arts scene in Peterborough, performing, creating installations and offering workshops. She is currently being mentored by Jumblies Theatre of Toronto, as she learns more about how to bring the arts to a wider and more diverse community in the heart of Peterborough. She believes that the arts must be accessible to all, and that together we are better.
Grace creates in her Living in Colour Studio in Peterborough. She is an Adler Trained Coach and uses her expressive arts training to assist clients to explore what they want in their lives. As an artist, she explores ideas of connection, growth and identity. She also loves to work in a green house, adopting gardens in need and coordinating family and children events. She has worked in the post secondary environment as an Academic Coach and Disability Adviser, assisting students and parents through the transition to university and college. Grace believes play and creativity will change the world.
